Detención del joven activista venezolano Lorent Saleh

El Secretariado Permanente de la Red Latinoamericana y del Caribe para la Democracia (Redlad), plataforma de impulso a la democracia plena integrada por más de 450 organizaciones, en su calidad de Miembro Oficial del Foro de Sociedad Civil de la Organización de Estados Americanos (OEA) y Capítulo Regional del Movimiento Mundial por la Democracia (WMD) alerta sobre la detención del líder estudiantil venezolano y activista democrático Lorent Saleh.

 

Hace pocos minutos, Lorent Saleh ha sido detenido y confiscado su pasaporte, mientras salía del país con el fin de solicitar protección por parte de las instituciones del Sistema Interamericano de Derechos Humanos, a raíz de la golpiza que sufrió la semana pasada en manos de simpatizantes y funcionarios del régimen de Venezuela, así como las amenazas de muerte sucedidas en contra de su familia.

 

En 2011, la Redlad denunció que Lorent Saleh permaneció más de 19 horas sin recibir atención médica luego una agresión física perpetrada por parte de funcionarios policiales durante una manifestación pacífica en el estado Barinas.

 

Son recurrentes las violaciones a los derechos humanos por parte del régimen que ocupa el gobierno de Venezuela. Nos preocupa la integridad física de Lorent Saleh.

The Permanent Secretariat of the Latin American and Caribbean Network for Democracy (Redlad) platform to boost full democracy comprising more than 450 organizations, as an Official Member of the Civil Society Forum of the Organization of American States (OAS ) and Regional Chapter of the World Movement for Democracy (WMD) alert on the arrest of Venezuelan student leader and democracy activist Lorent Saleh.

 

A few minutes ago, Lorent Saleh has been arrested and confiscated her passport, as he left the country to seek protection from the institutions of the Inter American Human Rights System, following the beating he suffered last week at the hands of Chavez supporters and Venezuelan officials of regime, including threats of death against his family.

 

In 2011, Redlad denounces that Lorent Saleh spent more than 19 hours without medical attention after a beating perpetrated by police officers during a peaceful demonstration in Barinas state.

 

Are recurring the violations of human rights by the regime occupying the government of Venezuela. We are concerned about the physical safety of Lorent Saleh.
